Abstract This paper will demonstrate that the best descriptor of Qohelet is divine hedonist, not absurdist, skeptic, pessimist, realist, nihilist or “Preacher Joy.” be done by examining relationship between Qohelet’s hebel -judgments and his carpe diem ethic comparing strategy with philosopher David Hume. serve to deconstruct traditional formulation Tun-Ergehen-Zusammenhang , opening space for legitimating preferred ethic: diem. In other words, rhetorically paints a dark dreary world in order buttress main ethic, diem, an both hedonistic (using philosophical classification) seeking pleasure avoiding pain (reflected God-fearing motif), this must align God’s mysterious decrees.
